Bright red objects

Just out of curiosity I was wondering what the shining red object in the top left hand corner of the first image was? I have seen them on a few other pictures and was wondering if I should mark them as an object of interest?

I make it a planetary nebula. I think we're not asked to mark them because, like stars, they are all over the place and a somewhat known quantity -- not the subjects of today's hot topics.

looking closer at the dark nebulae, I now know i have missed lots of them! I thought they were just gaps/spaces between the gas clouds... oops!

Should I mark every single black line,point etc.? Sometimes there are too many of them, don't know how to handle them.

Although I'm improving my identifications of most of the phenomena, still struggling with the dark nebula.An additional tutorial please.

It is not clear exactly what makes a nebulae and what is empty space.

I think Dark Nebula are the empty black spaces within the actual nebula. But I too am not sure.

none of these examples are very illuminating. some instruction as to what differentiates a dark nebula from empty space would be helpful.

Interstellar cloud of dust, ie.. dust clouds, wispy areas any color, red green, blue etc..
