Where do pics submitted for discussion go?

  • Arralen by Arralen

My very first pic had a strange, bright green, sharp object in it (presumably an object, if it's not some imaging artifact) - tried to submit it for discussion, and the interface asked me for a comment, and then let me start some discussion thread ... but now I can't find it anywhere, to actually discuss it (or watch other call me a jerk for not properly reading the tutorial, or something ..)
So, where do those pics go?

Actually, there's not a tutorial yet. The Talk software is really new (today's the first day in public use!), so it's still a bit rough around the edges. And there's definitely no name calling around here 😃

When you click discuss, you're actually just being given the opportunity to discuss the object. If you don't actually leave a comment, then nobody will know you visited it.

We really ought to show a list of your recent classifications just for occasions like this. I'll put it on my to-do list.
In the meantime, you can find the ID of the image (begins with AMW) in http://www.milkywayproject.org/my_galaxy and replace the ID in this URL http://talk.milkywayproject.org/objects/AMW000145x

Speaking of to-do's, we also really ought to make the recents and favourites in MWP link back to Talk.

If you click on the Profile link at the top right it should show you the discussion threads that you've started - this is probably the easiest way to find your own stuff.

The Profile link is under your Account pull-down menu!

I may have completely misunderstood, I thought that a comment wasn't left.
In fact, I'm guessing the object in question is http://talk.milkywayproject.org/objects/AMW0000zly

Oh well, it's still probably a handy feature to add. Thanks for the common sense! 😃

Well my 2nd picture I did click on the Discuss button and appended 2 messages to the picture (because it seemed to cut the first one off at some character limit?) but now it is gone. I don't see it under my profile as a "message" and I didn't start a "discussion" either, just added messages to a picture.

Oh, wait, it didn't disappear, it is http://talk.milkywayproject.org/objects/AMW000144a and both messages are in my profile.

It's not clear to me what should have happened, or will happen... if I have questions about an image, ought I to have started a discussion?

I wondered exactly the same, couldn't find my comment anywhere until reading this thread. Surely there should be a way of seeing all image comment discussions, not just those you submitted yourself?
