Galactometer

Can anbody explain me why the Galactometer-Counts change up and down, even the Count of yesterday and 2 days ago?

I was wondering that too. I love checking it, makes me feel awesome to see it go up, but it doesn't seem to reflect what I'm doing?

I have also noticed that it seems to go up and down, I guess it is just a random number but I hope it does reflect the work we put in because I do like to check it.
