  What kind of feature would this be?

  That's a star forming cloud of gas and dust. Looks like there are some very bright stars, possibly a cluster, in there. There is also a star which looks to be surrounded by pale green gas. This might just be a lone patch of gas in front of a background star. And there is another bright, oversaturated, star forming region below that.
