Yes that 's' is a great dark nebula - well spotted.

Unfortunately, I don't see the "S" u r talking about. Neither in the 'lit' material, or the black 'void' areas.
Too much to ask maybe trying to post this photo (a photo) with the indicators we use to mark objects? If even only using the circle indicator to show it's location.?

This might make it easier to see.

You can also "add annotations to the image":(118x109@145,511) using the yellow star icon in the text panel. Give it a try.

"dark nebulae":(126x136@123,496)

I spot dark nebulae by noting that they are blank. There is precious little space in the galactic center that isn't populated with something. If it's black and doesn't have a speck of anything, it's dark nebulae.

To admin, would it be possible at all to enhance all images as katieofoz has done?
It is brilliant. .........so to speak, easier to interpret.

At the moment, it would be hard to let users 'enhance' images in that way. We don't have enough time to implement all feature requests, I'm afraid. We're happy to let people edit them as they need to and share them around.
We are toying with an 'inverted' version of the image - if that would help?
