    Thank you for other examples. At times, despite referal to the tutorial, I still have doubts.
    Yes, I would also have marked the above, mid lower left as a galaxy. However as a newchum, I still would appreciate a chart of what not to mark. ie: bright dots with a red halo.

    I would love it if you could mark the beautiful multi-colored red spheres. I'd love to know what they are. If they have rays, could they be foreground items that are distorted by the lens of the camera?

    Yes, they are image artefacts produced by bright emission regions.
