    none of these examples are very illuminating. some instruction as to what differentiates a dark nebula from empty space would be helpful.

    I think Dark Nebula are the empty black spaces within the actual nebula. But I too am not sure.

    Should I mark every single black line,point etc.? Sometimes there are too many of them, don't know how to handle them.

    Where are the dark nebulae? You should pinpoint these for clarity. I just ignore them, because I've seen no clear guidelines
